Many people claim that truth is relative to the individual. By this, they mean that what is true for one individual is not true for another. This contradicts scripture which indicates that a single truth does exist and calls us to seek it. Submitted by Luke Murphey on Dec. 14, 2009
We as humans tend to be forgetful people. The people of God have a tendency to forget God. God told the nation of Israel not to forget him in Deuteronomy 8:18-19 and Deuteronomy 9:7 . However, Judges 3:7 records that Israel forgot him in favor of other gods. How do we remind ourselves continually to follow God? Submitted by Luke Murphey on Dec. 14, 2009
Biblical beliefs run against the grain of our society. As such, Christian's face pressure to conform to the world's standards instead of God's. This pressure can be much to bear; how should Christian deal with this pressure? Submitted by Luke Murphey on Dec. 14, 2009
The early church experienced dramatic growth in the first century. This is remarkable given that the early church was the subject of persecution and held positions that were controversial in the ancient world. This begs the question: what caused this church growth? John 4:1-42 contains the story of the Women at the well. Jesus talks to the Samaritan woman and asks for water from the well and in turn offers her the living that provides everlasting life. This story is powerful because it points how to become a disciple of Christ. The story also points how to evangelize to the lost. |
